Trading Standards Investigator

Full Vacancy Description

We are looking for a Trading Standards investigator for our south west England local authority client.

The work is investigation based, and so we are looking for officers who have good experience of investigation report compilation, are thorough, have excellent attention to detail, who understand the rules of evidence, have good experience of statement taking, evidence gathering and knowledge of Consumer Protection Regulations and the Fraud Act.

The investigation concerns puppy farms and the illegal sale of dogs, so will involve investigating and disrupting the trade, working with partner agencies, investigating breaches of the rules and submitting prosecution reports about individuals who have broken the law

The role would suit individuals with a Police, Trading Standards or similar enforcement background.
