Full Vacancy Description

Job title:      Trading standards enforcement officer.

Job Description:

Shape better communities as a trading standards enforcement officer

As a trading standards enforcement officer for a north London Borough, you'll define and enforce the systems and policies that will ensure all businesses and premises in the borough meet the highest standards. With a strong working knowledge of consumer law and the ability to carry out investigations fully and efficiently, you'll help make daily life better for local residents.

We're at an exciting stage of our transformation, working to deliver high quality services for our public and private sector customers, and are looking for others to join us on this journey as we continue to evolve and improve.

As part of our team, you'll not only play a key role in making decisions, you'll also have the opportunity to build close connections with influential stakeholders across the industry, local government and communities.

You'll be influential in helping others in the team to grow their knowledge, and in return, we'll give you access to structured training and resources to give you everything you need to develop in your career.

We're focussed on finding the right person for this role, so we don't mind where you're located, as long as you're able to travel into the Council area to attend on-site and client meetings when needed for various projects.

Apply now and you'll have a hugely positive impact on the local community now and into the future.

What you'll be doing:

contributing to and leading special projects and investigations as directed by the group manager

a full clean current driving licence, and access to a vehicle

excellent administrative practice and experience of governance requirements

experience of working with a range of partners and organisations

a diploma or equivalent in Trading Standards is desirable.
