We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our multi-disciplinary Public Health Division within the Covid-19 Test and Trace team. This is a great opportunity for a highly skilled individual to join Public Health within the largest Local Authority in the country, and lead work that contributes to Birmingham being a great city that enables people to live healthy and active lives.
The Public Health Division is engaged in a dynamic and diverse range of innovative work at a local, regional, national and international level.
This temporary position will be within the Test and Trace team leading the team working on data and intelligence through the next 6 to 12 months of the Covid-19 outbreak. The team leads on intelligence, including data analysis and report collation, and governance, supporting the local outbreak engagement board and the three setting-specific outbreak response cells. The team is key in delivering the local outbreak response plan and ensuring we are able to interpret the data from Public Health England and the national test and trace service alongside local intelligence at pace to avoid escalation of local outbreaks.
The Role
The Senior Officer role will provide support to a small team delivering the intelligence approach for the test and trace programme. The team will work closely with the wider test and trace function and support rapid management of data and intelligence on a daily basis across the week to inform our outbreak response and support the wider governance and delivery of the test and trace programme within the Council.
Skills & Experience
This is an ideal opportunity for somebody who:
• has substantial experience of working with analytical data and intelligence from multiple different sources,
• translating evidence into accessible formats for a wide range of audiences including elected members and public audiences,
• understands the issues of intelligence and data in the context of the diverse communities of Birmingham and is passionate about reducing health inequalities;
• has demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Public Health priorities and relevant policy environment;
