Based in Burton-on-Trent, the Claims Management Regulation Unit (CMRU) is part of Staffordshire County Council and works exclusively on behalf of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ)
We are looking for a senior claims management officer to join the unit until 29 March 2019
Pay is £15.95 per hour PAYE or £19.85 umbrella
Across the Claims Management industry, we regulate the companies that offer a service for people hoping to claim compensation for things including: Personal injury, mis-sold financial products and services or employment and redundancy.
We authorise and monitor claims management businesses as well as taking enforcement action against those who break our rules of conduct. We provide guidance and advice to consumers, organisations and regulated firms. Our work is intelligence-led involving partnerships at a local, regional and national level.
We are looking for candidates currently on fixed term until the end of March 2019. The successful candidates will have extensive experience of regulation / enforcement and the ability to advise claims management businesses about their obligations under the Compensation Act and associated legislation.
You will be required to line manage and oversee the operational work of a small number of Claims Management Officers within an enforcement team. You will plan and carry out investigations and research and will be able to deal with non-compliance effectively. Knowledge and / or experience of claims management regulation would be an advantage although not a requirement.
Successful candidates will be expected to work full time, attend overnight stays and be able to travel across England and Wales when required.
