Frequently asked Questions
Who are Kenyon Block Consultants?
We are a nationwide recruitment company in all aspects of local government
recruitment. We specialise in Trading Standards, Environmental Health,
Licensing and the technical side of local government contractor sourcing.
How do I register?
Kenyon Block Consultants welcomes all enquiries. You can email your CV
to info@kenyonblock.com or give us a ring on 020 8360 7289. If you email
your CV to us we would like to speak to you to discuss your requirements
such as experience, pay, preferred location and expectations of contract
work.
If you need to write a new CV or update your old one please see our document on "The Perfect CV" in the Downloads section.
Where will my placement be?
We will always try as hard as possible to place you in a preferred location.
As a national company we have contractors all over the country. We will
contact you when we have a contract to discuss if it is suitable for you.
If you are interested we will proceed, if you are not interested in that
particular contract we will continue until we find something more suitable
for you.
What about Confidentiality?
We will keep your details completely confidential and will not send your
CV to a prospective client until we have discussed the placement with
you.
See our "Privacy Policy" for more details.
What happens next? - (My contract)
Many clients will wish to meet prospective contractors before a placement
is finalised. This is an opportunity to ensure that the placement is acceptable
for you and our client. When there is mutual agreement to a placement
Kenyon Block Consultants will send you a contract which will have start
dates and confirm previously discussed rates of pay.
PAYE or Limited Company?
The choice is yours and we are happy with whatever decision you make.
If you have queries over which one is for you KBC will be happy to put
you in touch with experts who can explain what this is all about and answer
your questions.
How do I get paid?
All pay rates are negotiated on your behalf by KBC and will be fair and
equitable to both the contractor and the client and consistent with KBC
current contractor rates for that position.
It is your choice whether you wish to be paid weekly or monthly. On receipt of an authorised time sheet and invoice if appropriate, KBC will be pleased to transfer your pay to your bank account electronically via BACS transfer.
Do I need a CRB check?
KBC recommend that contractors obtain enhanced Criminal Records Bureau
checks. We will happily arrange this for you through our umbrella company.
Many positions require enhanced disclosure which may take up to 4 weeks
and perhaps longer and we do not want you to miss out on a suitable placement
due to the lack of a CRB check.
