The Environmental Protection Team provides high profile, proactive and reactive Environmental Protection statutory services to residents, businesses and developers. The Team provides professional, technical and regulatory advice to service users, particularly relating to; air quality, industrial process operation, acoustic assessments, and contaminated land identification and remediation. In addition, the Team provides professional advice to Planning and Licensing; and a re-active service response to complaints of statutory nuisance, arising from environmental protection issues, primarily smoke nuisance, dust from construction, and odorous emissions from commercial premises.

A Senior EHO Noise Specialist is required to provide specialist noise advice and statutory noise nuisance / environmental protection enforcement on behalf of the Pollution Services Section.

This role specifically includes regulating noise emissions from construction sites / major infrastructure projects and commercial premises (proactively and reactively), and responding to planning and licensing consultations (reviewing acoustic reports and proposing appropriate noise conditions).

To undertake the full range of duties appropriate to the Section as required.

To be responsible for the completion of work programmes and tasks laid down by the Team Manager

The role will be at least until 23 February 2018

Pay is £18.71 per hour PAYE or £23.41 umbrella
