Job Title: Environmental Health Officer (licensing, notices and pollution)
This post specifically deals with licensing issues - undertakes licensing investigations into: statutory nuisance, drainage, public health and responds to various time limited Planning & Licensing consultations (in addition to consultations from external agencies such as the Environment Agency & DEFRA). Each member of staff within the team is assigned a geographical area for which they are responsible. In addition to these aforementioned tasks; the Environmental Compliance Officers have responsibility for regulating an individual specialist area of work including: Air Quality & Permitted Processes. These specialist areas require a great deal of involvement and understanding of complex numerical & scientific information.
Educated to degree standard (or equivalent), you must be EHRB registered or hold equivalent qualifications which have been formally assessed and endorsed by the CIEH.
You must have previous experience of successfully working as a fully qualified EHO in the field. You will contribute to the team’s work programme to ensure compliance with the Council’s enforcement policies, protocols and the statutory requirements of the various government agencies. A driving license and a vehicle insured for business use are required.
The role will be at least until 30 December 2017
Pay is £24.25 per hour PAYE or £30 limited
